In the past years the European Union has focussed on reducing the amount of plastic waste and the European Commision has adopted a bill called 'European strategy on plastics in a circular economy', which states that by 2023 all packaging needs to be either re-usable, recyclable or compostable.
Giró has launched a 3rd member of the EcoGiró product range: a new packaging made from 100% cellulose.
In the past Giró presented 100% plastic & 100% compostable solutions, but in 2022 we presented a new range based on cellulose as a 100% recyclable material for thermally adhesive (Girsac and Ultrabag) and cut (WG and C2C) packagings. The materials are based on cellulose that can be fully recycled after use.

-Both materials are FSC certified (AEN-COC-000401)
Cellulose packaging are made from 100% cellulose.
The clipped bag is created by combining the paper label with the cellulose Gircel net.
